Designed to work in line with a loop winder, the TTT automatically compensates for speed variations caused by the loop bar’s winding motion. The secret is in the TTT “floating” tape head.

The machine’s tractor drive securely clamps onto and crawls along the moving wire at a pre-set speed. As the loop bar turns, the wire speed fluctuates and both the tractor drive and taping head “float” on precision guide rails. The result is measured advance of the tape head giving you total control of the tape overlap.

Accurate Overlap, Wrinkle-Free Taping
Designed for use in line with loop winding bars or winding forms, the TTT Turn Taping Machine provides a consistent, tight tape wrap with perfect tape overlap. Two adjustable tape roll assemblies, each with a constant tape tension device, provide wrinkle-free performance. Adjusting the tape roll angle easily changes the amount of tape overlap.

Free Floating Carriage Lets Tractor Drive Keep Steady Pace
Moving on precision guide rails, the tape head carriage “floats” to compensate for the loop-winding bar’s motion. Inside the “floating tape head carriage” are the tape head and the tractor drive that maintains the accurate tape overlap during tape application. It securely clamps onto the wire and crawls along at a pre-set speed.

Built With Versatility In Mind
A TTT machine can be equipped to use one or two tape rolls giving you added flexibility and productivity. It can be used to tape multiple conductors together up to 1” (25.4 mm) wide by 1 1/2” (38.1 mm) high.

Sized and Customized for the Coils You Wind
There are two standard machine sizes available. One for coil lengths up to 90 inches and a larger extended bed machine that can handle up to 144-inch loop lengths. Longer bed lengths can be special ordered. Our engineering staff will help you adapt the machine to best fit your needs and application.

Safety Designed In
To protect the operator, the taping head is completely enclosed by an interlocked guard designed to instantly stop the tape head and drive system when it is opened. Limit switches automatically stop the winding head and de-clamp the tractor drive from the wire to prevent damaging the machine should its float range be exceeded.
