Simple, Reliable, Indispensable!
Variable Speed Coil Taper

For more than 80 years these simple to operate, ingeniously designed machines have been used to wrap tape on armature coils, buss bars, rods, wiring harnesses and even the handles of golf clubs.
Durably constructed of bronze, cast metal and steel, they contain no gears, cams or other complex apparatus. A foot pedal switch controls a variable speed drive unit that rotates the tape head at speeds up to 600 rpms.
These machines rely on the operator to move the work piece through the tape head and maintain the tape overlap. Both the 72-Yard Machine and the 36-Yard Machine can be used to apply adhesive or non-adhesive tape and can be ordered with a standard bench mount or optional floor mount. |

 The two main differences between the 36 YD and the 72 YD are:
1. Size of the tape roll
2. Size of the tape head opening |

No Gears
These machines contain no gears or pulleys and run off a single drive belt. The variable speed drive is mounted below the tabletop.

Speed
An experienced operator can tape an average of 30 to 60 coils per hour using these machines. |

 A complete taping machine assembly consists of a taping machine with drive motor and control mounted on a steel stand with a 24” (610 mm) X 36” (914 mm) Formica covered table top. Pictured above is a 36-YD machine with an optional coil support fixture that helps the operator position the coil while moving it through the tape head. |
